HALF PRICE APPRENTICE REGISTRATION SCHEME
From 1st January 2016, the Victorian Government's half price registration scheme for apprentice tradesmen comes into effect.
Almost 20,000 apprentices enrolled in eligible trade courses will be able to take advantage of this discounted rego, including plumbers, electricians, bricklayers, carpenters and joiners, if their employer can prove their vehicle is an essential part of their work.
Eligible apprentices paying standard registration on a light vehicle in metropolitan Melbourne will save $385.70 per year and apprentices in regional Victoria including Bendigo and Ballarat will save $330.20.
The Government says it's hoping the money that trade apprentices save on registration costs will be invested in more training and tools.
