Mandatory Testing for Legionella Critical
Another example of the critical importance of being vigilant on testing for contamination and pathogens in our water supplies and air-conditioning systems.
Queensland Health has advised that legionella bacteria has been found in the plumbing fixtures and pipes at Hervey Bay Hospital.
The water was tested after the death of a patient who had tested positive to the bacteria on April 20.
MPAQ is calling on the State Government to increase requirements for regular and mandatory testing inline with NSW to ensure that hot water systems are tested every 12 months.
The Association also recommends tempering devices be tested every 12 months.
